The Parting of the Crowd at Jallikattu - Madurai, India

When the seasons change in mid-January in India it means different festivals across the diverse country.  In the southern state of Tamil Nadu, the harvest celebration is called Pongal.  Outside of the city of Madurai the headline event is Jallikattu, India's version of the Running of the Bulls.  As one of the thousands of groundlings that go toe-to-toe with the bulls, your job is quite simple: try to hang on to the beast, usually by grabbing its characteristic hump.  Oh, and you should also try not to die. It is a deadly sport which makes the antics in Pamplona look like child's play.  You know you're in a different place far from home when you see something like this.
