Of course it’s hard to forget the tragic terrorist attack on the Taj Mahal hotel in Mumbai in 2008. That same hotel again has a starring role and serves as a testament to India’s role on the world stage. News reports claim the Obama delegation “has reportedly block-booked all 570 rooms in the Taj Mahal hotel” as well as another 300 rooms. Granted, all that insular security and host-country clean-up will unfortunately mean that the US delegation will miss the real street scenes in India.
